The Womens Merino Thermal Weight Bottoms is PATAGONIAs warmest Merino baselayer, with wool sustainably sourced from the grasslands of Patagonia and blended with Capilene® fiber.
Keep your motivation high when the temperatures really drop low. Thermal Weight is PATAGONIAs warmest Merino baselayer. It is wonderfully soft, has a great warmth-to-weight ratio, breathes and resists odor, stretches and regulates body temperature across a wide range of conditions. PATAGONIA's fine merino wool is responsibly sourced from the grasslands of Patagonia.
PATAGONIA slow washes it for softness and shrink resistance without the use of chlorine, then they blend it with Capilene® recycled polyester for increased durability, dry times and moisture management. Features include a flat waistband with brushed inner elastic for next-to-skin softness, a gusseted crotch for mobility and low-bulk merrow seams to minimize chafing.

Recycled Polyester
PATAGONIA began making recycled polyester from plastic soda bottles in 1993 - the first outdoor clothing manufacturer to transform trash into fleece. It was a positive step toward a more sustainable system– - ne that uses fewer resources, discards less and better protects people’s health.
Today, PATAGONIA recycles used soda bottles, unusable manufacturing waste and worn-out garments (including their own) into polyester fibers to produce clothing. And PATAGONIA offers recycled polyester in a lot more garments, including Capilene® baselayers, shell jackets, board shorts and fleece.
Using recycled polyester lessens the dependence on petroleum as a source of raw materials. It curbs discards, thereby prolonging landfill life and reducing toxic emissions from incinerators. It helps to promote new recycling streams for polyester clothing that is no longer wearable. And it causes less air, water and soil contamination compared to using nonrecycled polyester.
