Warm, windproof, water-resistant - the updated Nano Puff® jacket by PATAGONIA for women uses warm, incredibly lightweight and highly compressible 60-g PrimaLoft® Gold Insulation Eco.

The sun/shade line on pitch 13 is reason enough to bring along the Nano Puff® Jacket. As a sleek micro-belay parka on chilly rock routes or as an insulated jacket during wintertime squalls, it traps your heat and blocks the wind.

Its 100% recycled polyester shell sheds moisture and glides effortlessly in your layering system, while the low-bulk, hydrophobic, highly compressible 60-g PrimaLoft® Gold Insulation Eco - now with 55% post-consumer recycled content, and still the most thermally efficient synthetic insulation available - warms with remarkable efficiency, even when wet.

The Nano Puff® jacket by PATAGONIA for women has a sculpted fit, with narrow horizontal quilting on the shaped side panels, and the soft, wicking interior storm flap and zipper garage add chin comfort. Its internal zippered chest pocket doubles as a self-stuffsack with a carabiner clip-in loop. It also has two zippered handwarmer pockets, elasticized cuffs and a dual-adjust drawcord hem to seal out wind and seal in warmth.

Recycled Polyester

In 1993, PATAGONIA adopted fleece into the product line made from post consumer recycled (PCR) plastic soda bottles. PATAGONIA was the first outdoor clothing manufacturer to do so. PCR™ clothing was a positive step towards a more sustainable system – one that uses fewer resources, discards less and better protects people’s health.

Today, PATAGONIA is able to utilize more sources for recycled polyester and offer it on more garments such as Capilene® baselayers, shell jackets, board shorts, and fleece. PATAGONIA now recycle used soda bottles, unusable manufacturing waste, and worn out garments (including our own) into polyester fibers to produce many of our clothes.

Using recycled polyester lessens the dependence on petroleum as a raw material source, curbs discards and reduces toxic emissions from incinerators.

Insulation

PATAGONIA uses PrimaLoft insulation inside insulated garments for its warmth, compressibility, and soft comfort. While the human body uses energy to stay warm, PrimaLoft insulation uses a patented microfiber structure to help the body retain warmth and conserve energy.

The proprietary ultra-fine fibers of PrimaLoft insulation form a tight collection of air pockets that trap heat from your body and keep the cold out, providing an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio. When insulation gets wet, it loses these air pockets and consequently, its insulating properties. PrimaLoft ultra-fine fibers were developed to be water resistant so your insulation stays drier and maintains its insulating properties even when wet.

Water Resistant

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

PATAGONIA pays a premium for every PATAGONIA product that is marked with a #K03️ label. This money goes directly to the workers who freely decide how it is used. In this program, there is no top-down determination. In every factory there is a democratically elected #K01 workers' committee that decides how the money is used.

The premiums were used to finance community projects, such as health care and a day care center for children. Products were purchased that the workers could not otherwise have afforded, such as laptops or stoves; or cash payments were made directly to the workers. But that is not all. The program also promotes workers' health and safety, social and environmental measures, and dialogue between workers and management.

PATAGONIA has worked with #H01®️ technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in the materials supply chain, and to assist with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. #H01 technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.
