The history of REMA TIP TOP began in 1923 with the founders Otto and Willy Gruber. The Stahlgruber company developed into a specialist wholesaler for car accessories, tools and garage equipment. A little later, the two brothers discovered a real gap in the market and decided to produce tube patches and tire patches. During a product trial in 1938, Willy Gruber said, "These things are tip-top, aren't they?" - and thus created an idea and brand that later conquered the market.
