The New Zealand outdoor company and merino clothing specialist Icebreaker was founded in 1994 by marketing expert Jeremy Moon. Through the acquaintance of a merino sheep farmer, Moon first became aware of functional shirts made of merino wool. He quickly recognized the great potential of merino wool in functional clothing and developed a business plan with the goal of selling Icebreaker worldwide.
